As Senior Cloud Security Engineer at Opsmart, you will provide cybersecurity expertise in the analysis, assessment, development, and evaluation of security in our cloud-based environments. Additionally, you will assists in the development of cyber security requirements, conducts security risk assessments, evaluates security services and technologies, and reviews and documents information security policies and procedures as well as provides monitoring and oversight for alerts in our environment. work timing should be US hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide support on Cloud-related Security Incident Response
• Take point on Cloud Vulnerability management
• Provide support and guidance to others on cloud security strategies, processes, and technology
• Provide management with risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect customers, staff, or corporate security objectives
• Automating infrastructure provisioning (prefer infrastructure-as-code), DevOps, and continuous integration/delivery using Terraform for security use-cases where it makes sense
• Build tools, processes, scripts, and workflows that help accelerate the engineering team so we can build better products faster
• Ability to evaluate, implement, sustain, and offboard cloud security tooling that detects & prevents threats
• Contributes inserting security in to CIs such as Github actions
• Cloud Logging & monitoring for security use-cases such as CloudWatch, Splunk logrhythm, or other SIEM related technologies
• Participate and improve general security software development, deployment, and operations
• Mentor software engineers and/or DevOps for best security practices

Education & Skills

• 4+ years working with AWS, deep understanding of AWS concepts, services, and fluency with the AWS APIs/command-line tools.
• 4+ years of experience designing and architecting various services and configuring them to improve Security posture and resiliency
• 5+ years of experience working as a security professional
• Expert level proficiency with hands-on Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Expert level proficiency and hands-on automation experience with Python (using boto for aws)
• Expert level proficiency with AWS Cloud Services (Lambda, CloudFront, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Route53, VPC ) from a security lens
• Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills necessary to constantly monitor systems to identify threats and vulnerabilities
• Preferred Experience with building automation scripts and writing Infrastructure as code scripts in python or any other scripting language
• Preferred Security Certifications but not required
• Build: Github Actions, Jenkins or any other standard build tool
• Familiarity around iptables, firewallD, SSH, TLS, IAM, VPC, VPN
• Familiarity with troubleshooting Linux operating system flavors
